The group is run by two workers who facilitate conversation and linking between families, listen to ideas and needs, liaise with both the parents and children and have the capacity to provide information and referrals if needed. The group promotes family capacity building as well as community networking. It is free of charge and meets in a church hall adjacent to an outdoor kindy space with large sandpit, shaded playground and grass area. There is a theme for each week and activities, games or crafts are offered. Whole families/carers (children with and without autism and other carers such as grandparents) are encouraged to attend. A light meal is provided to finish off the group time.

Suitable for girls on the autism spectrum aged 6 – 12 years, must be accompanied by parent or carer. This is a life skills and social connections program which includes cooking, craft and outdoor activities and is aimed at building self-esteem and confidence. This group also provides parents or carers an opportunity to catch up, have a break and gain new information or support. Please bring drink bottle, hat and sunscreen.
