What are School Holiday Programs?
School holiday programs at Autism SA are where children aged 3-18 are supported to engage in activities that can help with the development of life skills, social and communication skills and friendships.
Have fun and make new friends while developing a range of life, social and communication skills.
A variety of different programs are delivered each school holidays. Read below to learn more about the community-based and therapeutic programs coming up next.
Therapeutic programs
Autism SA’s therapeutic school holiday programs are smaller groups delivered by Occupational Therapists and Speech Pathologists at a range of times and locations.
Aqua Skills Group (3-8 years)
Dive into this school holidays with Autism SA’s Aqua Skills Group.
Autism SA’s Aqua Skills Group is a fun and skill-building group program focusing on water familiarisation, mobility and water safety.
Supported by Occupational Therapists and Speech Pathologists, participants also have the opportunity develop their communication, language and play whilst learning valuable aqua skills. The friendly group environment fosters a safe place for participants connect with peers and grow their social skills.
This program is offered at Paragon Swim Centre Modbury and ProSwim Plympton Park.

Build social skills and awesome LEGO® creations with Autism SA’s LEGO® Club.
Autism SA’s LEGO® is a group-based program supporting participants to develop skills whilst building LEGO® creations.
Formed by the principles of LEGO®-Based Therapy participants are involved with structured play which involves working as a team and following visual instructions to complete a LEGO® creation.
Supported by Occupational Therapists and Speech Pathologists, participants have the opportunity develop their social, problem-solving and fine motor skills in a friendly group environment.
This program is offered from Autism SA’s Elizabeth and Tonsley locations.

Have fun and develop literacy skills this school holidays with Autism SA’s Literacy Explorers.
Autism SA’s Literacy Explorers is a fun group-based program focusing on developing skills for reading and writing.
Supported by Occupational Therapists and Speech Pathologists, participants have the opportunity develop their literacy skills whilst engaging in social interaction with peers.
This program is offered southern area of Adelaide at Autism SA’s Tonsley location.
Join a fun social group for young people who like MINECRAFT®.
Autism SA’s MINECRAFT® Social Group is an interactive, group-based program focusing on developing social and communication skills.
Supported by a multidisciplinary team, the participants engage in MINECRAFT® themed obstacle courses, fine motor tasks and problem-solving activities. Through the activities, participants will learn key skills in self-advocacy and will engage in a variety of sensory activities.
This program is offered from Autism SA’s Netley location.

Join an interactive social group for young people who like POKEMON®.
Autism SA’s POKEMON® Social Group is an fun, group-based program focusing on developing social and communication skills.
Supported by a multidisciplinary team, the participants engage in POKEMON® themed activities including obstacle courses, fine motor tasks and problem-solving activities. These fun activities support participants to engage in different types of play, use self-advocacy skills and engage with peers.
This program is offered from Autism SA’s Netley location.

Identity Group: Knowing Me, Knowing You (13-17 years)
Empowering autistic teens through self-acceptance and self-discovery.
Autism SA’s Identity Group, Knowing Me, Knowing You is a group based program focused on fostering self-awareness and self-acceptance.
Through creative workshop and self-exploration exercises, participants have the opportunity discover what makes them who they are and gain a better understanding of the role autism plays in identity.
This program run by allied health professionals is offered from Autism SA’s Elizabeth and Tonsley locations.

Safely navigating the world of developing friendships and relationships online.
Autism SA’s Relationship Group: Mate, Date, Fake is an group-based program focusing on developing healthy and safe friendships and relationships with others online.
Supported by a multidisciplinary team, participants learn valuable skills about cyber safety and supporting safely connecting with others online.\
This program is offered from Autism SA’s Elizabeth and Tonsley locations.
Gain confidence and cooking skills with Autism SA’s Adult Cooking Group this school holidays.
Autism SA’s Adult Cooking Group is a practical, skill-building group focusing on cooking and food safety.
Supported by Occupational Therapists and Speech Pathologists, participants have the opportunity develop their social communication skills whilst learning useful, everyday cooking skills.
This program is offered northern area of Adelaide at Autism SA’s Elizabeth location.

Autism SA is accredited and registered as a provider through the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA). This means that you can pay for services at Autism SA with your NDIS funding, or you may pay yourself, through fee for service.
