Autism SA provides support to schools for students with an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) through the multi-disciplinary School Inclusion Program.

The Metropolitan region is split into 4 areas: North, South, East and West as per government boundaries.
There are two teams in each metropolitan region: a School Assessment Team (SAT) and a School Intensive Team (SIT). Each team consists of a Consultant/Teacher and a Developmental Educator who provide support in educational settings.

Eligibility:
To access Autism SA (no fee) services individuals must be a registered client of Autism SA. To register as a client, the individual must have a diagnosis of ASD from the Autism SA’s diagnostic team or another recognised multi-disciplinary agency or group of professionals. The Autism SA diagnostic team must sight copies of the diagnostic reports from the other professionals. To register the individual or parent/ legal guardian must sign a consent for services form at Autism SA. Anybody is eligible to request Fee for Service support. Autism SA can provide a quote for these specialized services.
Access to Services:
The service can be accessed by parents, schools or professionals by contacting the appropriate Consultant/Teacher or the School Inclusion Program Coordinator. Although individuals may meet eligibility for services, a waiting period for these services may apply.
The School Inclusion Program can provide services to any Department of Education (DECS), Catholic (CEO) or Independent (AISSA) school within the metropolitan regional boundaries prescribed by the Ministerial Advisory Committee: Students with Disabilities.
Greater Adelaide schools can access visits from the Consultant/Teacher only on a twice yearly basis. Outreach (country) schools can access 3 visits per 2 academic years from the Consultant/Teachers. All schools are welcome to consult relevant staff by email, telephone and through CENTRA or video conferencing.
Helping Children with Autism Package:
