Following an assessment the Occupational Therapist provides strategies and recommendations related to an individuals’ functional capacity. This may incorporate recommendations for interventions to enhance functional skills or to remediate areas of difficulty, and may include determination of need for equipment or assistive technology to improve function.
What: 1:1 assessment and development of a written assessment report
Where: home, education, leisure, or child care settings, or any other settings as required
Referral pathway: Referrals can be made by various people: individuals, parents, therapists, consultants or advisors. If someone other than the individual or the parent is making the referral they then individual/parent/carer must be informed prior to the referral.
