Local charities get more hospitality

The Grange Golf Club will again host the annual Liquor Industry Charity Golf Day, which will give away $76,000 from funds raised in 2007 to 13 recipients of South Australian charities.

Liquor Industry members and followers will be out raising funds for SA Children’s Charities on Monday 3 March 2008.

Grange Golf Club has provided both East and West Courses on the day, so the total number of players will exceed 380.

Ben Hook will be Master of Ceremonies in the BankSA Marquee and there will be plenty of action with the major Auction conducted by Michael Brock inclusive of an advertising package in the Advertiser worth over $10,000.

The major recipient will be:

Variety SA - $45,000 for the Imagination Children’s Playground at Flinders Medical Centre. This is the most substantial contribution being made to the Centre by the Liquor Industry, as Variety also received $45,000 in 2007 for the same cause, totally an impressive $90,000 donation to date.

Other key recipients include cots for McGuinness McDermott Foundation, saddles for Riding for the Disabled, and sports kits for Spastic Centres of SA (SCOSA).

The Liquor Industry Charity Golf Day is in its 58th year, and has raised over $1.5million for Children’s Charities.

Rob Gillies, Chairman of the Charity Committee says this year’s event is anticipating a record profit of $80,000, which will go back to SA Children’s Charities.

“Each year the generosity of the Liquor Industry grows with the Charity Golf Day, to which we thank them sincerely.

We are also keen to expand our growing commitment to establish the Liquor Industry’s Charity day as one of the premium Charity golf events in South Australia”, Rob said.
