Coordinator: Specialised Day Options:  Commencing at 24 hours per week

Social, Community, Home Care & Disability Services Industry Award 2010, Level 4 ($22.6589-$25.2593 per hour)

Responsible to the Manager, Family and Community Services via the Community Services Senior, a Coordinator is required for the following position.  Please refer to the Position Overview indicated below.  Applicants must possess Tertiary Qualification in Disability Studies or related discipline.

Specialised Support Worker:  up to 24 hours per week

Social, Community, Home Care & Disability Services Industry Award 2010, Level 3 ($19.9680-$21.8958 per hour)

Responsible to the Manager, Family and Community Services via the Coordinator, Specialised Day Options the Specialised Support Worker is required for the following position.  Please refer to the Position Overview indicated below. Applicants must possess Certificate III (Disability Work) or equivalent.

Autism SA will consider sharing for this role between multiple applicants upon request from the successful applicant. Additional hours may be available in other Autism SA programs.

 

Position Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to work is a small team and develop a new program.  Initially it is working with an active young man 4 days per week. The roles will require a high level of energy and creative thinking. Long term, there is a view to expand the program to support a small group of school leavers. Subject to funding, the team will be instrumental in planning this transition and developing a highly specialised and innovative program that reflects best practice in the field. At this time, there will be the opportunity for increased hours and further positions offered.

Positions are initially contracted until June 30, 2012 with the view to ongoing employment, subject to funding.

Positions are covered under Autism SA’s Enterprise Agreement.

Casual Support Staff

 Autism SA maintains a pool of casual staff to work within various programs providing support to individuals with challenging behaviours and/or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a variety of settings.  If you are interested in this area of work with Autism SA, your first step would be to complete an application form available here and print it out.

The information session will provide you with a more detailed overview of what the casual support worker may consist of so you can assess if you are ready to apply.  Attendance at the information session and submission of your application form is not a guarantee that you will be offered an interview or a position in the casual pool or with Autism SA.

After attending the information session and submitting your application form, potential candidates will be contacted and invited to attend a formal interview on one of these dates:

The interview panel will discuss with you your qualifications, motivation and understanding, and you will be able to ask any further questions not answered at the information session.

After the interview and on the completion of a satisfactory Criminal History Check, successful candidates are contacted and  will then undergo an orientation process which may include mandatory training so the employment process can begin.  Unsuccessful candidates are also notified and may request feedback if desired.  They are also invited to re-apply in the future.
