Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS)

Lori Frost and Andy Bondy devised a communication system based on the exchanging of pictures to express communicative intent. PECS is divided into structured phases that progress from teaching the requesting of specific items, to building sentence structures and to using higher level communication functions.
