Medications
While medications cannot cure Autism Spectrum
Disorders, they can alleviate some of the symptoms or associated
difficulties, including anxiety, mood disturbances, hyperactivity,
aggression, self-injury and compulsive behaviour. Some of
the medications used include antipsychotics, antiepileptics,
antidepressants and opioid antagonists. A medical practitioner
must prescribe any medication. Medication studies can be
investigated using PubMed http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/entrez.
