Gluten-free / casein-free diet (GFCF diet)

There is some evidence that people with Autism Spectrum Disorder are unable to break down dietary gluten (from cereals and wheat) and casein (from milk and dairy products), leaving raised levels of peptides in the gut. These peptides can affect the Central Nervous System and have an opioid effect on the brain.
