Autism SA offers a range of customised professional development packages to suit the needs of your community! Experienced presenters are able to conduct sessions on a range of topics including; An Into to ASD, Best Practice, Increasing Social Interaction, Proactive Prevention of Behaviour and Developing and using Visual Supports to name a few. The content, time and date can all be adapted to suit the need of individual sites. There is no limit to the number of participants that can attend the session so have a chat with other organisations in your area and book a date!

Video Modeling for Social Devlopment Intervention
Video modeling is an observational learning method that can be used to teach social and communication skills to children with Autism Spectrum Disorders and other disabilities. In this hands-on workshop we will look at: Social understanding, Video modeling methodology, iModeling Program, Video modeling methods, Video modeling in practice and Filming and editing practical. Participants will practice using the iModeling app (video modeling application) and will get the application donated.9:30am- 4:00pm 16th April
 
IPads and Apps for children with special needs
Heard about iPads – or do you have one, but still unsure how to use one? Would you like to know which applications are useful for your child with a disability?
This hands-on workshop includes:
• Navigating an iPad,
• What is the iTunes Store, and where do you get apps?
• Compare current teaching tools to available applications
• Focus on visual scheduling, Social Skill and Assisted and Augmentative Communication
• Look at a case study (or use own example) and find an appropriate strategy using an application on the iPad 9:30am- 9:30am- 12:30pm- 6th March or 17th April
 
Keyword Signing
For children with an Autism Spectrum Disorder, Keyword Signing is often used to assist communication development and to attempt to reduce frustrations caused by limited language skills.
It can be used in conjunction with any other form of communication strategy such as speech therapy, use of visuals or Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS). Participants will leave with the skills and knowledge of nearly 100 signs for everyday use. 9:30am- 12:30pm- 26th March
